Whole Cow Deposit: November 2024
Reserve your cow now for Fall 2024. Our cows are sold on hoof and brought to a USDA certified slaughterhouse for you. They are raised on pasture and hay, and they are finished on a sweet grain mixture. They also get scrap veggies and fruits throughout the year. Our cows are rotated through our gardens and pastures to ensure they receive the best care and a happy life. This round of cows is an angus/dairy cross breed to ensure the best flavor profile.
We are currently taking reservations for Fall 2024. We will have a limited number of cows available. Butcher date is November 13, 2024. Meat will be ready for pickup within 3-4 weeks of butcher date.
$500 deposit
$7/lb packaged weight (not hanging)
Buyer pays for all butcher fees. The following is an estimate for butcher fees, which is subject to change depending on slaughterhouse used (currently New England Meat Packing):
- $140 slaughter fee
- $1.40/pound hanging weight cutting and wrapping fee
- Sausage ground: $1.20/ lb (optional)
- Patties: $1/ lb (optional)
In general, the final packaged weight of our whole cow is between 400-500 pounds. Estimated total cost including butcher fees is $3200-$4000. This is just a broad estimate and will vary greatly by animal! We can purchase back some meat if it is over what you budgeted for, but this must be communicated as soon as you receive your totals.
Please Contact Us with any questions or to make special requests. Upon purchasing this option, we will send you a contract for review. You will have 3 days to sign and return the contract. If you wish to cancel before the 3 day period, we will refund your deposit. After 3 days of no response, the deposit is nonrefundable and contract is assumed accepted. After receipt of contract, we will send you the cut sheet that must be returned before slaughter date or cut sheet fee will apply. You must be able to pick up meet at the slaughterhouse of choice— we do not ship at this time. If we must transport the meat for you, a $50 minimum fee will apply.
